My Heartland Honor Flight

September 16, 2008 I was honored to be included in this trip to Washington DC

to get to see the WWII war memorial. A special honor for my generation of war Vets.

This trip made a very special day for me and all of the old guys who were

included in the trip. The generous care and attention was so special and

means so much to guys like me and I don't know how we can adequately

thank everyone.

After getting up before 4 AM for departure from the Motel at 5 AM and getting onto and off of the airplane as well as onto and off of the bus several times throughout the day in Washington DC, our arrival in Omaha looked pretty inviting. We were met by a group of family and friends.

The day was so jam packed with neat things to see and do, lots of walking from buses to memorials and back to the bus, that Omaha and family looked pretty darn good to a bunch of very tired but happy Vets.

Thanks again and again to all who made this very wonderful day possible. I remain thankful that we live in a country where this kind of event happens.
